skimming and scanning

Now let's practice the two strategies you read about on the worksheet in class today:

Choose one of the strategies (skimming or scanning) and try it out. Read through chapter 15 using the strategy you choose and take notes on the information you find just by using the strategy.

Bring your notes to class.

skimming and scanning are the easiest ways to read an article just for the sake of knowing what the article is about. when looking for information about a certain topic, usually date name or action, scanning is the best choice since i know what am looking for. anyways, when we are about to read an article that has the .. umm when we read an article that we are supposed to know what is in it, it is hard to just go thru it with skim and scan methods. in free readings, it does not matter what i miss reading or understanding cuz it is for me.. and i can go back to the book and read again if i felt like it. but in school..it is hard to read with no worries or use skim scan methods when i know i'll be tested in small details .. it worries me. i used the free style when i first baught the book, i finished the first chapter.. getting only a general idea of what that chapter is about while reading..but when we were asked to journalize (dont look this word up in the dictionary, i just made it up) it , i had nothing to say.. not in 10 minutes!! so i had to read it again with extra attention to what am reading.
thats all i can think of and am not yet finished with 10 minutes..
so aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... aaa.a.a.a.a.a. nothing..
